Burner locked out on its reset. Check the oil tank gauge first. Press reset once at most: repeated resets can pump oil into the combustion chamber. Then call.

Watch for the bait and switch
A call-out advertised at almost nothing gets recovered once someone is standing in your basement. Get the number before anyone travels — from us, or from anyone else you call — and hold them to it when they arrive.
Financing on larger jobs
A boiler that fails in January is not a purchase anyone planned. Financing is available on the big-ticket work, so a system replacement does not have to come out of savings in one go.

Call now if the house has no heat and the weather is near or below freezing, if there is an elderly person, a baby or anyone unwell in the house, if water is leaking from the boiler, or if there is any smell of gas, smoke or a carbon monoxide alarm. Those do not wait.
If the heat is on but weak, one zone is cold, or the boiler has a new noise but is still running, it can usually wait for a daytime visit, which is easier on everyone. Call anyway and describe it. We will tell you straight which one you have.

My oil burner stopped. Should I press reset?
Once, at most. If it does not start, stop. Repeated resets can pump oil into the combustion chamber, which turns a simple repair into a dangerous one. Check the tank gauge, then call.
How do I keep my pipes from freezing in the meantime?
Open the sink cabinet doors on outside walls, let a cold tap drip, keep interior doors open, and use electric space heaters only where you can watch them. Never use an oven or an open flame to heat the house or thaw a pipe.
Do you work on steam boilers?
Yes. Steam and hot-water boilers, gas and oil, plus forced-air furnaces, all major brands.
What if it needs a new boiler?
Most no-heat calls are a repair. A cracked heat exchanger or a failed boiler section is a replacement, and we will tell you straight. Financing is available on replacements through Synchrony, subject to credit approval.
