Long Island licenses plumbers town by town and village by village. Here is exactly where NJM holds the paperwork — and where it does not.
New York does not issue a state plumbing license. There is no single card a plumber can hold that covers Long Island — every county, town and incorporated village sets its own rules, runs its own examination and keeps its own register. A contractor licensed in your neighbor’s town is not necessarily licensed in yours.
NJM holds master plumber licenses in 7 Long Island municipalities, on both sides of the county line, alongside the Suffolk County restricted plumber license, home improvement contractor licenses in both counties, a New York State mold remediation license and TASK 86/87 certification for gas. Each one was earned on its own. That is what makes it possible to run plumbing, heating, cooling, gas and contracting through one company instead of four.
