631-587-0085WE ANSWER EVERY CALLA slow drain is an annoyance. A sewer backup is an emergency, and the difference between the two is often just how long the first one was ignored. NJM clears blocked drains and sewer backups for homes and businesses across Nassau and Suffolk County, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
The important part of this work is not clearing the blockage — most people can rent a machine and do that. It is finding out why it blocked, because a line that backs up twice in a year is telling you something about roots, grade, or a section of pipe that has failed. We clear it, then tell you which of those you are dealing with.

Kitchen, bathroom, laundry and floor drains cleared for homes and businesses.

Blockages in the main house drain and the lateral running out to the sewer, cleared and diagnosed.

Clearing root intrusion and advising honestly on whether the joint or section needs repairing to stop it recurring.

A line that blocks more than once a year has an underlying cause. We find it rather than selling you the same clearing job repeatedly.

Restaurant kitchen lines, grease-loaded drains and commercial main lines across Long Island.

Sewage backing up is answered 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Where a sagging or broken section is the cause, we repair rather than clear and re-clear.
What actually causes blockages in your particular line, and what to stop putting down it.
We don’t charge to quote a job. We do charge to find a problem nobody has identified yet. Which one you need — and what it costs — gets agreed on the phone, so nothing about the cost is a surprise on the doorstep.
You get the number on the phone, before anyone is dispatched, and it is what you are charged when the technician arrives. One rate across all four trades — plumbing, heating, cooling and gas.
A licensed, insured technician carrying the certifications the work needs, and the time to find what has actually failed — not a quick look and a guess.
A call-out advertised at almost nothing gets recovered once someone is standing in your basement. Get the number before anyone travels — from us, or from anyone else you call — and hold them to it when they arrive.
A boiler that fails in January is not a purchase anyone planned. Financing is available on the big-ticket work, so a system replacement does not have to come out of savings in one go.
Boiler, furnace and water heater replacement, a full air conditioning system, a whole-house repipe, sewer and water main work, and larger contracting jobs — kitchens, bathrooms, dormers and extensions.
At the estimate, before anything is scheduled. It is worth asking even if you think you will not need it, because knowing it is there changes what you are willing to consider fixing properly.
The price of the job. The quote is the quote whether you finance it or not — and on a straightforward repair it is usually not worth the paperwork. We will tell you which one you are looking at.
Where a blockage sits usually tells you what caused it, and how urgent it is.
A single sink, tub or toilet draining slowly usually means a local blockage in that trap or branch. Least urgent, easiest to clear, and worth doing before it becomes total.
When several fixtures back up together the blockage is further downstream, in a main line or the sewer lateral. This is the point where it becomes urgent.
Grease cools and coats the inside of the line, narrowing it over years until something small finishes the job. Common in kitchens and very common in restaurants.
Tree roots find the smallest joint gap and grow toward the water. A frequent cause of repeat backups in older Long Island properties with mature trees.
So-called flushable wipes do not break down like paper. They are one of the most common causes of complete main line blockages we are called to.
A section of pipe that has dropped out of grade or cracked will collect debris and block repeatedly no matter how often it is cleared. This needs a repair, not a snake.
Waste appearing in a tub, shower or floor drain means the main is blocked and the house has nowhere to drain. Stop running water and call immediately.
Gurgling drains and sewer odour usually mean a venting problem or a partial blockage. Both worth diagnosing before they become a full backup.

What it says on the coupon is what comes off the bill. Mention it when you call.
A slow drain that keeps coming back is usually telling you something. We clear it and find out what.

Waste appearing in a low fixture like a tub or floor drain means the main line is blocked, and it is an emergency. We answer 24 hours a day.
Not urgent, but worth dealing with. A single slow fixture is usually a local blockage in that trap or branch. It is far easier to clear at the slow stage than after it stops completely, and it is much cheaper than a main line call.
Because clearing removed the blockage but not the cause. Repeat backups usually mean roots at a joint, a section that has sagged out of grade, or a cracked pipe collecting debris. If you are having the same line cleared more than once a year, you are paying for the same job repeatedly instead of fixing it. We will tell you which it is.
They flush. They do not break down the way toilet paper does, which is the part that matters. They are one of the most common causes of complete main line blockages we get called to. The same goes for paper towels and sanitary products.
Yes, and it is common in older Long Island properties with mature trees. Roots find a hairline gap at a joint and grow toward the water. Clearing them works, but they return unless the joint is repaired — we will be straight about which you are looking at.
Yes. Commercial kitchen lines take a lot of grease, which coats and narrows the pipe over time. We clear and service commercial drains across Nassau and Suffolk County, scheduled around service hours where possible.

Called Neil on the spur of the moment on a Saturday afternoon because my bathroom sink backed up and when I plunged it nothing but black water came up. I really opened up Pandora's box. Neil was able to come same day and fix the problem. Glad I had his number handy.
