The rate you are told is the rate
You get the number on the phone, before anyone is dispatched, and it is what you are charged when the technician arrives. One rate across all four trades — plumbing, heating, cooling and gas.
What it pays for
A licensed, insured technician carrying the certifications the work needs, and the time to find what has actually failed — not a quick look and a guess.
Watch for the bait and switch
A call-out advertised at almost nothing gets recovered once someone is standing in your basement. Get the number before anyone travels — from us, or from anyone else you call — and hold them to it when they arrive.
Financing on larger jobs
A boiler that fails in January is not a purchase anyone planned. Financing is available on the big-ticket work, so a system replacement does not have to come out of savings in one go.
What it is normally used for
Boiler, furnace and water heater replacement, a full air conditioning system, a whole-house repipe, sewer and water main work, and larger contracting jobs — kitchens, bathrooms, dormers and extensions.

Safety First
If You Smell Gas, Do This First
Leave the building. Do not switch anything on or off — light switches, appliances and phones can all produce a spark, and that includes turning something off as much as on. Do not use the phone inside. Once you are outside and clear, call your gas utility’s emergency line, then call us.
A gas smell is not a wait-and-see situation and it is not something to investigate yourself. The certification exists precisely because the failure mode is catastrophic rather than inconvenient. We answer 24 hours a day, every day of the year, but the utility comes first for an active leak.

What should I do if I smell gas?
Leave the building immediately. Do not operate any light switch, appliance or phone on the way out — a spark can come from switching something off just as easily as on. Once outside and clear, call your gas utility’s emergency line first, then call us on 631-587-0085. Never look for a gas leak with a flame.
What is TASK 86/87 certification?
It is the certification New York requires to perform gas work legally. TASK 86 and 87 cover gas piping and appliance work respectively. Practically it means the work is done by someone trained and authorised to do it, and that it will pass inspection — which matters for your insurance as much as your safety.
Do I need a permit to run a new gas line?
Yes, gas work requires permits and inspection. We pull the permit and see the inspection through as part of the job. If a contractor offers to run a gas line without one, that is a reason to use somebody else.
Can you run a gas line for a generator?
Yes. Standby generators are one of the more common new gas line jobs we do on Long Island, particularly on the south shore. The line has to be sized for the generator’s load alongside everything else already on the supply, which is the part most often got wrong.
Can I add a gas appliance to my existing line?
Sometimes, and sometimes the existing line cannot carry the additional load. Adding an appliance to an undersized supply means everything on that line underperforms. We calculate the load before connecting anything, and upgrade the supply if it is needed.
How do I know if my gas line needs replacing?
Visible corrosion, any smell of gas, appliances that will not stay lit or burn with a yellow rather than blue flame, and older black iron piping that has never been inspected are all reasons to have it looked at. A pressure test will tell you definitively.
Do you handle commercial gas work?
Yes — restaurants and commercial kitchens in particular, where appliance loads are higher and the code requirements are stricter. Same TASK 86/87 certified team.
