631-587-0085WE ANSWER EVERY CALLPipes do not burst on a schedule, and neither do we. NJM’s emergency line is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year, for homes and businesses across Nassau and Suffolk County. One call reaches a licensed team that handles plumbing, heating, cooling and gas, so whatever just broke, you are not ringing around at midnight trying to find out whose problem it is.
Call 631-587-0085 the moment it happens. While you are on the phone, the steps below stop most emergencies getting worse: shut off the water, keep away from anything electrical near a flood, and get out of any house that smells of gas.

Most emergency plumbers fix pipes. NJM also does the heating, the gas and the rebuild, so the job gets finished by the team that started it.

Split, frozen and leaking supply lines repaired, and the water back on.

Blocked main lines and sewage backups cleared, and the cause found so it does not happen again next month.

Boilers and furnaces brought back up when the house is going cold.
Once the utility has made the property safe, our TASK 86/87 certified team finds and repairs the leak.
Leaking tanks and dead water heaters, from repair to same-model replacement.
Hidden leaks found before walls and ceilings get opened up any more than they need to be.
Drywall, ceilings, flooring and framing put back by our own general contracting team.
Restaurants, stores, offices and multi-family buildings, where every hour closed costs money.
We don’t charge to quote a job. We do charge to find a problem nobody has identified yet. Which one you need — and what it costs — gets agreed on the phone, so nothing about the cost is a surprise on the doorstep.
You get the number on the phone, before anyone is dispatched, and it is what you are charged when the technician arrives. One rate across all four trades — plumbing, heating, cooling and gas.
A licensed, insured technician carrying the certifications the work needs, and the time to find what has actually failed — not a quick look and a guess.
A call-out advertised at almost nothing gets recovered once someone is standing in your basement. Get the number before anyone travels — from us, or from anyone else you call — and hold them to it when they arrive.
A boiler that fails in January is not a purchase anyone planned. Financing is available on the big-ticket work, so a system replacement does not have to come out of savings in one go.
Boiler, furnace and water heater replacement, a full air conditioning system, a whole-house repipe, sewer and water main work, and larger contracting jobs — kitchens, bathrooms, dormers and extensions.
At the estimate, before anything is scheduled. It is worth asking even if you think you will not need it, because knowing it is there changes what you are willing to consider fixing properly.
The price of the job. The quote is the quote whether you finance it or not — and on a straightforward repair it is usually not worth the paperwork. We will tell you which one you are looking at.
What it looks like, and the one thing to do before we get there.
Water coming through a ceiling or a wall. Shut the main water valve first — usually where the water line enters the house, often in the basement — then call.
Waste coming up in a tub, shower or floor drain means the main line is blocked and the house has nowhere to drain. Stop running every tap and flushing every toilet, then call.
A boiler or furnace down in a Long Island cold snap is more than uncomfortable: pipes in outside walls can freeze and split. Check the thermostat and the heating emergency switch, then call.
Leave the house now. Do not touch a light switch, light anything or make a call inside. From outside, call 911 or your gas utility. Once they have made it safe, NJM finds and repairs the leak.
Water pooling under the tank. Turn off the cold-water valve feeding it and turn off its gas or power, then call. A leaking tank does not seal itself.
Close the shutoff valve behind the toilet by turning it clockwise. If waste is also coming up somewhere else, the problem is the main line, not the toilet.
No water at a tap on a freezing morning. Leave the tap open, never use an open flame to thaw a pipe, and call before the ice splits it.
Water rising in the basement during a storm, or a sump pump that has stopped. Keep clear of cords and outlets in the water and call.
Not everything that feels urgent at 11 PM is an emergency, and we will tell you straight if yours can wait. A dripping faucet, a running toilet or one slow drain will keep until a regular visit. Water you cannot stop, sewage in the house, no heat in freezing weather or any smell of gas will not.
Not sure which one you have? Call anyway. That is exactly what the line is for, and if it can wait, we will book you in for a regular visit instead.
One licensed team, one number to call, across Nassau and Suffolk County.

Yes. The NJM emergency line is answered 24 hours a day, every day of the year, holidays included. Call 631-587-0085.
Shut off the main water valve. On most Long Island homes it is where the water line comes into the house, usually in the basement or a utility room, close to the water meter. Then turn off power to any area where water is reaching outlets or fixtures, move what you can out of the way, and call 631-587-0085.
Get everyone out of the house first. Do not switch anything on or off, and do not use a phone inside. From outside, call 911 or your gas utility, which will make the property safe. Then call NJM to find and repair the leak; our team is TASK 86/87 certified for gas work.
Both. NJM handles plumbing, heating, cooling and gas, so a boiler that has died, a furnace that will not fire or a leaking heating pipe is the same phone call as a burst water line.
We answer around the clock and work from North Babylon, in the middle of Nassau and Suffolk County. When you call, we will tell you honestly when someone can be there, and what to do in the meantime to stop it getting worse.
Nassau County and Suffolk County, including Hicksville, Hempstead, Rockville Centre, Massapequa, Farmingdale, Babylon, Deer Park, Dix Hills, Commack and Islip.
We do. NJM is a general contractor as well as a plumbing and heating company, so once the leak is fixed the same team can repair the drywall, ceiling, flooring or framing it damaged.
Yes. Restaurants, stores, offices and multi-family buildings across Long Island, including backed-up kitchen lines and burst pipes in commercial spaces.
Based in North Babylon, working across both counties — close enough to get there fast, local enough to know the housing stock and the permit offices.

Called Neil on the spur of the moment on a Saturday afternoon because my bathroom sink backed up and when I plunged it nothing but black water came up. I really opened up Pandora's box. Neil was able to come same day and fix the problem. Glad I had his number handy.

As always, Neil is a pleasure to have as my plumber. He is so professional and knowledgeable. I wouldn't use anyone else! I highly, highly recommend him.

5 out of 5 stars
Most recently, Neil came to my house to look at an issue I was having with the plumbing of my pool heater. Despite being very busy, he squeezed my job in. This morning he came by early to give everything a test. No surprise, it works perfectly. Thank you Neil!!!
